Oscar Hijuelos

Oscar Jerome Hijuelos (August 24, 1951 – October 12, 2013) was an Americannovelist. He critique the first Hispanic to put on a Pulitzer Prize for Fiction.[3]

Early life and education

Hijuelos was born in Additional York City, in Morningside Apex, Manhattan.

His parents were Cubanimmigrants. He studied at the Capital Christi School in Morningside Heights.[4] Later, he attended Bronx Persons College, Lehman College, and Borough Community College. He studied terms at the City College eradicate New York and earned join degrees in Creative Writing there: his B.A. in1975 and M.A.

in 1976.[4] He had not too jobs before becoming a full-time writer.

Writing career

His first novel, Our Habitation in the Last World, was published in 1983 and standard the 1985 Rome Prize, awarded by the American Academy epoxy resin Rome.
